Kickstart: No-Stress Swim Basics for Adults

KICKSTART is a calm, beginner-focused swim class for adults who are ready to become more comfortable and capable in the water. Whether you never learned to swim, had a difficult past experience, or simply want a better foundation, this class is designed to help you start without pressure or overwhelm.

Over 4 Saturday sessions, students will learn the foundations of swimming in a supportive, low-stress environment:

  • Floating

  • Kicking

  • Breathing

  • Back floating

  • Water comfort and confidence

Each 60-minute class includes:

  • 30 minutes of guided instruction

  • 30 minutes of supported practice and reinforcement

This is a true beginner class. No swimming experience is required, however if you have extreme fear, a private lessons are recommended first.

  • 4-week sessions beginning June 6

  • $150 total

  • Small group format (capped at 4)

  • Adults only

  • Please bring:

    • A swimsuit

    • A towel

    • A water bottle

    • A swim cap or hair tie for long hair

I recommend arriving already changed into your swimsuit before class begins. If needed, a bathroom/changing area is available for use.

  • The deepest part of the pool is approximately 6½ feet deep, which is considered relatively shallow for a pool. However, KICKSTART students will not be working in the deep end during this class.

We will begin in shallow water where students can comfortably stand and focus on learning the foundations of floating, standing up safely, breathing, kicking, and back floating without the added stress of deep water.

  • Visit the Group Lessons scheduling page and select the KICKSTART session you’d like to join (June, July, or August).
